A blog which discusses current research in the search for extrasolar planets, the characterization of these worlds, the ways in which astronomers find them, and the possibility of life around other stars.
The author of this blog is a graduate student purusing a Ph.D. in Astrophysics. His research focuses on the search for planets around very young stars. He hopes that these observations will help clarify the timescales for planet formation which will in turn inform the models we use to understand how planetary systems are created. No it’s not curing cancer or mitigating poverty, but it is a lot of fun!
